SAINT LUKE ACADEMY

PreSchool, Kindergarten, Grades 1-8

.

Welcome to Saint Luke Academy, a school that has served the children of this community since 1882.

In order to prepare students for the challenges of this new millennium, the Academy is dedicated to offering the most innovative, cognitively powerful Christian education in the Chicago-land area. In the Academy Curriculum, student learning proceeds from nurturing experiences in Pre-School to basic skills acquisition in Kindergarten and from discipline-specific classes in Primary School to interdisciplinary learnings in the Middle School.

What can you expect when your child graduates from the Academy?

.

We will work very hard so that she or he can...

      • set high expectations with school work a priority.

      • be information literate and be able to find and evaluate information.

      • be socially literate with good communication skills.

      • be a good problem solver and define problems clearly.

      • be a creative thinker, appreciating various points of view.

      • be metacognitive and will think about thinking.

.

That is what industry and colleges are telling us they want our graduates to be able to understand and do. We are committed to making that happen for your child.

.

What resources do we have to make this possible?

.

Our students have access to the latest technological and scientific equipment in our Media Center, Resource Room and Science Laboratory. We offer an abundance of extra-curricular activities and programs, such as History Fair, math and geography clubs, music ensembles, art programs and athletic teams, to complement and enhance our students' educational experiences.

.

What are our most important educational attributes?
