In Kindergarten our students acquire new learning strategies and expand their skills.
- Students engage in language exploration to develop phonemic awareness and recognition of high frequency words to prepare for their later reading instruction.
- Kindergarten students work on number sense in anticipation of simple number operations.
- They explore the concepts of time and money and ordinal numbers.
- The students in Kindergarten practice patterning and sorting and are introduced to basic concepts of fractions.
- Students engage in a variety of learning units that help them to understand the world around them (space, life cycles, community, persons).
- Learning centers promote learning through discovery. Art, music and drama expand cultural horizons.
- Children participate in physical education and enjoy outdoor play each day (weather permitting).
