Ribbon, Silk, Wool and Bamboo Yarns

Psalm 42

As a deer longs for the running streams,

so I long for you, my God.

I thirst for God,

the living God;

When shall I come to appear in his presence?

Deep calls to deep in the roar of your cataracts,

and all your waves,

all your breakers,

sweep over me.

By day the Lord grants his unfailing love;

at night his praise is upon my lips,

a prayer ot the God of my life.

"Waters of Life - Baptized Daily"

Acrylic on treated canvas, medium gloss varnish

It is by the water and the word that I was born again and I can renew my baptism--be made new--each and every day, having new opportunities, with everything that has been, washed away and taken down the drain; these things washed away are the positive experiences as well as the negative ones.  With meditation and focus, a morning shower brings this theology to life.

Psalm 1

Blessed is the man

...He is like a tree

planted by streams of water,

...its leaf does not wither.

In all that he does, he prospers

Cotton and Acrylic Composition

Psalm 69:1-3

Save me, Oh, God,

for the waters have come up to my neck.

I sink deep in mire, where there is no foothold;

I have come into deep waters,

and the flood sweeps over me.

I am weary with my crying;

my throat is parched.

My eyes grow dim with waiting for my God.

"Forgiven"

Pastels on Paper

The water of tears is cleansing water.  This pastel depicts the washing of Jesus feet by the woman who showed such heartfelt repentance and who was forgiven much.

"Washed"

Mixed Media Sculpture

Nothing in my hands I bring.

Simply to thy cross I cling.

Naked come to thee for dress,

Helpless look to thee for grace.

Foul I to the Fountain fly;

Wash me Savior, or I die.

"Narrow is the Way

A Dreamscape "

Acrylic on Untreated Canvas

In this dream, I had come upon a narrow ridge along which there was the sky coming down on one side and a deep, dark and still sea on the other.  I walked forward and saw the star strewn deep night sky overhead and broken building piece strewn to the left and to the right of the path.  The earth slanted down and away to each side of this narrow way.  At one point, I had stepped too far to the right and the red earth crumbled from under my foot; I regained my balance and stayed on the sky-lit ridge until I cam to a fallen wall than hanged over the deep blue sea.  I walked to the edge of this wall and dove into the deep, feeling safe, and the words I awoke with were, "Narrow is the Way."

"The Water Drop "

Arylic on treated canvas, medium varnish on drop

Look into the water drop and see the sea, land and sky as well as some water fowl and sea life.  I understand all of life as largely water; certainly, we are.  Water also possesses the greatest healing and bonding energy I know.  This single drop represents these beliefs.  And to reflect that water is in all of life, if you invert the water drop, you will again see the same sea, land, sky water fowl and signs of sea life in this one drop of water.

"Washed - A Dreamscape"

Acrylic on untreated canvas panel

Washed up - on the right the washed up years of my

      life as they appeared in my dream

Washed in - on the left a creature of swift strength that

      rose up after the first image

Washed forever - in the center, the tearing open of the

     previous two images and the rushingforward and

     out of the sacred waters of life.  This image was

     the second dream, joined to the other two as a

     conscious choice to have these waters wosh

     forever what has been.

"The Little Builder "

Acrylic and water on untreated canvas , unvarnished

.

Even with a storm coming in over the ocean (the discouragements of life), the little builder works with purpose.  In this discourse on perspective, the two finished pyramids appear large and grand inthe foreground while the third appears quite small before the little builder. So, either the other two are so large because they are quite close in the foreground or the work being done is larger than it appears before the little builder.
