INTERGENERATIONAL

Older Adults and the children of Saint Luke Academy

.

SEASONINGS is Saint Luke’s weekly intergenerational luncheon fellowship program. 

Each Wednesday, older adults meet over lunch with the children of Saint Luke Academy

then participate with the children in an age-appropriate activity.

“Reading Roundabout” offers students in the primary grades the opportunity to practice their reading skills in a relaxed one-on-one setting. (Grades 1-2)    Reading Roundabout Photos

“Discovery Days” give students practice in acquiring and organizing inter-personal and numerical information while polishing their social skills. (Grades 3-4)

“Conversations” Through interviews and data collection activities students learn what life was like for children of earlier generations. (Grades 5-6)

In “Working Lunches" the group explores social problems and works on material aid projects for Lutheran World Relief.  (Grades 7-8)      Working Lunch Photos  

 

Seniors from the Renaissance community are invited to join with Saint Luke seniors in luncheon fellowship and activities with the children of Saint Luke Academy.  Seasonings lunches are held in Founders Hall and last from 12 noon until approximately 1:00 – 1:10 p.m.  Seniors may participate every week or as schedules permit.

Lunches for Seasonings participants are FREE, but we ask that you call to let us know you are coming so that we can have places set when you come down.  Make your reservation a Seasoning Luncheon by calling Saint Luke by 10 a.m. of the day you with to attend: 773-472-3383
