THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER

All Saints, Final Sundays after Pentecost, Christ the King

The natural elements of the harvest complement three different observances on the liturgical calendar:  All Saints Sunday, the final Sundays after Pentecost and the celebration of Christ the King.  Each of these observances, in its own way, speaks to the theme of gathering the faithful from every tribe and every nation.  The fruits of the earth, fully mature and in unexpected and wonderful diversity, are symbols of our Lord’s harvest of the saints in his return to the fields to gather in all those who have taken root and borne the fruits of the kingdom.
