FREE PARKING
Please be sure to use the free garage parking. Parking for all worship services can be found in the Pointe at Greenview Place Parking Structure directly to the north of the Church Building.
The entrance is just west of 1501 W. Melrose Street and is marked with a sign to the left of the driveway into the Parking Structure. Please note: Melrose Street runs one way west at this point. If you’re at the entrance of the Whole Foods parking lot, you’ve gone too far!
All of these parking spaces, at any level, are currently available for our use, even those with “Reserved Parking” signs. Once parked, the entrance path into the Church is clearly marked.
Welcome to Saint Luke
Whether you are visiting for the first time, or are a longtime member, we are blessed to have you with us. As a Reconciling in Christ Congregation, we welcome all sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions based on our belief in a radically inclusive Jesus who loved all people regardless of gender, ethnicity, race, religion, economic, social status, or physical abilities. Saint Luke Ministries strives to be a place “Where all are welcomed, period.”
Introduction to the day
As we continue to celebrate the fifty days of Easter, today’s gospel includes Jesus’ promise that he goes to prepare a place for his followers in his Father’s house. Our baptism commissions us to share Jesus’ mission in the world. As 1 Peter reminds us, we are a holy people, called to proclaim the one who called us out of darkness into light. In words and deeds we bear witness to the risen Christ—our way, our truth, our life.
The joy of Easter continues. Our environment, still filled with flowers, fabric and fragrance, urges us to “keep the feast,” to sustain our joy and wonder at God’s great gift to us in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
During the Fifty Days of the Easter Season, we will stand for all the portions of the Service at which we would normally kneel. We do this as a reminder that because we have knelt in the shadow of the Cross and have been forgiven our sins by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we can now stand before God as His children.
